So Matty and I have wanted a puppy for a long time... and now that we have a house we thought its now or never! We were looking at australian shepherds and english springers because they both are great with kids...while looking for dogs on saturday we stumbled across a liter of puppies being adopted out through the humane society that were.. aussie/springer mix! there were six puppies in the liter and we showed up to pick out mr ollie. He is super darling and sweet and he and Quinn are both two months old! they are going to be best friends. For a puppy ollie is super mellow and just needs to learn to not pee or poop in the house! He cried the whole night his first night at home so Matty had to make a bed in the laundry room and sleep next to his crate. It doesnt seem like you can let a puppy "cry it out"..... hahahaha

So I now have 3 boys to take care of and have my hands very full. We love our little ollie and are so excited to have him in our family. Hopefully I can get him trained soon!

New House

So we have been looking at houses since about July but on November 18th we closed on our first house! It is small and older but we love it all the same. It is closer to Matt's work and in a good school district. We really miss being in mesa much closer to our friends... but the good news is its not TO far and we can easily go visit!

So since my friend Morgan so lovingly told me... "I'm tired of reading about your accident...your terrible at blogging.." I decided its time to get better at this since I physically cant force myself to write in a journal and I should maybe have something to pass along to my kids.....Thanks for the kick in the butt Morgan. :) Love you. :) Anywho... Heres a readers digest version of the craziest, and most amazing year of both our lives...

I found out I was pregnant in February and we were so excited! The same weekend we planned on telling our parents I started bleeding and we thought I was miscarrying. Thankfully (this is the major drama free version) everything was fine and we have a good story to tell Quinn when is his older.

In May I graduated from ASU (finally).I applied for my masters as a Physicians assistant and I will hopefully start May 2011.

In June Matty got a new jobat Vanguard. This was such a HUGE blessing but very scary at the same time. I was six months pregnant and we were changing benefits. But heavenly father was watching over us and we didnt have any problems changing the benefits even with my "pre-exsisting condition". This job move also allowed me to stay home as soon as Quinn was born! :) Matty is also getting really great experience in the field that he wants to go into :)

September 25th our little Quinn was born!! After 36 hours of labor.... on September 24th I went into labor and we waited until it was time and the contractions were 3 min apart for an hour. Apparently after 5 hours I was only 1 1/2 inches.... so they sent me home :(. At 3AM on September 25th my contractions started getting worse... (yes i was still having contractions all day and all night...) We went back to the hospital and i was.... a whole 3 cm!!!! :/ BOOOOO I was now in hard labor and it was AWFUL....I kept that up until about noon and I was drumroll... 5 cm..... :(. At that point I was in tears.. the contractions were back to back... and I thought I was going to die... I couldn't handle the thought of 12 more hours of this agony and THEN pushing.... So I got the epidural...It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I wanted so bad to be able to make it through labor without an epidural.. but after 25 hours I just couldn't do it anymore. At 5:42PM little Quinn came into the world after an hour of pushing.

Ya... so... after a long string of unfortunate events (losing my job... having a bunch of unexpected bills and costs.... having my apartment threaten to tow my car....)Tuesday night I was sitting in our apartment and my friend from across the street called me and was like.... "carlyn... I think someone just hit your car..." I was like "uhhh.." because it was PARKED in our apartment lot... so I ran out there and some lady (in another mustang ironically) had jumped not one.. but TWO curbs... to slam into my car which then slammed into matts car parked right beside mine... so I was just standing there looking at the scene... and I just started laughing... REALLY?! really?! hahahahahhahahahahaahah no one was hurt, Im very grateful for that and that we had JUST gotten our licenses and registrations fixed. We were outside in the rain for awhile but good news they had insurance!!!! my poor car... :( the tire is all pushed in and the bumper and fender are pretty shot... :( of course matts car has like ONE scratch hahaha but thats good since is is basically brand new.

So....Its official.. my life is ridiculous.... and all I can do is LAUGH... :)

So its been a month since I have written anything.... I told you I would suck at this! Matty and I have just been going crazy with school, work, callings, family and friends. Its been rough because we don't get to see each other very often :( but the few things we do get to do together are always an adventure.
We started taking this "strengthen your marriage class" through the stake. Its pretty fun. Matty just has to hold me back sometimes... especially when we come in and there are two tables set up... one with fluffy blankets and knitting and baking paraphenalia on top of an over sized doily.... versus the other table which has bats and baseballs and tools and car parts on top of a tarp fashioned into a table cloth. Now in my head I think ya Im not super into any of that "man table stuff" and ya I like to bake... but do we really have to perpetuate the stereotypes so visually?! That was a rough class.. Matty was laughing at me the whole time.... Or there was the other class where we talked about the 5 to 1 ratio of positive to negative interactions.... which is totally correct.... but when the teachers asked what would happen if we made the ratio 10 to 1 I immediately thought.. Gross! and apparently I said it out loud too.... which made for a nice back pedal that made me keep my mouth shut the rest of the night..... :) I sometimes wonder how Matty puts up with my insanity. He's a good sport about it though. He mostly just laughs at me.

So everyone has been bugging me about getting a blog and I finally had the time to make it! Horray! Now I cant promise I will be super good at keeping it updated.... you know with silly school getting in the way.... ;) but I will try! Right now I am in my last year of undergrad (HORRAY!) and Matty is finishing his last year at MCC and getting ready to transfer. We are trying to decide what to do with our lives... so if you have any ideas let us know!! hahahah we love you all! I will try and keep you as updated as possible!
